Today, I decided to connect with Ian Rankin through social media. It will be interesting to see if he responds. I enjoy reading his books even though our novels are very different. The Rebus films were a disappointment; it is so hard to capture the story through a film. I think it is because when we read our imagination goes wild and we picture the story. The film is another person's interpretation of the book and not your interpretation. So when the image does not match it is disappointing.
